About Instructor:

Born and raised here in the DFW area, Joshua Green began piano studies at the age of 6. He received his bachelor of music degree in piano performance, magna cum laude, from Dallas Baptist University. While studying there, he served as  accompanist to one of the university’s choral ensembles. Mr. Green holds a master of music degree in piano pedagogy from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. During his time at SWBTS, he was the recipient of the Wayne “Polly” McNeely Piano Award and served as a graduate assistant in the piano division. He has participated in numerous master classes and workshops given by such artists/pedagogues as Harold Martina, Carolyn True, Jane Magrath, Melody Bober, Suzanne Guy and Sheila Paige. Mr. Green also serves as an adjudicator for piano festivals & competitions in the DFW area.

 

Mr. Green's professional memberships include: Music Teachers National Association, Texas Music Teachers Association, Arlington Music Teachers Association, and College Music Society. Mr. Green is also a Steinway Educational Partner.

In addition to his private studio in Arlington, Mr. Green is a faculty member in both the College of Fine Arts at Dallas Baptist University and Tarrant County College where he teaches class piano, private applied piano, and courses in Music Appreciation. In addition, Mr. Green continues to freelance as a solo performer and collaborative pianist  throughout the DFW area and is available to provide music  for weddings, parties, and events for all occasions; as well as accompany for recitals, concerts, auditions, UIL competitions, etc.

Teaching is something about which Mr. Green is very passionate. Having taught in various settings from his home studio, to area music academies, to the advanced level at the university, he has much experience with students of all ages and abilities. Mr. Green is a patient person whose fun, yet focused, teaching style is appealing to all students. His desire is to develop a strong relationship with each student, through which he can foster in them a love and enjoyment for music making and the pursuit of personalized musical goals, all with the ultimate aim to bring glory to God through their personal expression and sharing of music with others.

In his spare time, Mr. Green enjoys reading and spending time with his wife and daughter.
